Sunday marked the birth of the Holland Food Festival in the Westergasterras in the Westerpark. Courtesy of Slow Food, farmers and food producers from around the Netherlands congregated to tempt me into spending lots of money. And succeed they did!
I came home with Dutch sheep’s-cheese feta; pork and oregano air-dried, cured sausage; dried, honeyed, seasonal cranberries; some kind of bacon that may or may not taste of sauerkraut (my Dutch was leaving a little to be desired); and grainy mustard from a man wearing clogs and red socks!
