In the beginning…

… there was milk, and that fairly quickly led onto fois gras,  smoked salmon and champagne. Et voila! A foodie was born. And what  better location for a foodie to live, eat and write than beautiful  Amsterdam? Where every restaurant is a mere bicycle pump’s throw from  your front door, and the rain makes a handy excuse for whiling away  afternoons in cafes sampling the apple cake…

After a fairly short-lived foray into blogging on myspace – which  resulted mainly in propositions by Egyptian men and not, funnily  enough, in a job as a food critic – I decided to join the blogging  masses and start this journal. Some days you may find literary tomes  about the latest restaurant I’ve visited, whilst other days there may  be just a few lines about what I’m having for dinner 🙂 But however  long, short, literary or lackadaisical the entries, bring your appetite!
